Pastor Joe Fitzgerald
Good, Better, Best
Highlights:
The quality and fruit of our life will be determined by how and what we sow.
The Good Life: “I’m ok, things could be worse.”
The Better Life: “God has been good to me.”
The Best Life: “All in.”
Sow in the eternal things; the things that will matter forever.

Discussion Questions:
Jesus in the Gospel of Luke says, “your faith has made you whole.” Looking at the year ahead, praying about what is to come, what do you want? What do you have faith for?
Pastor Joe spoke of being “all in” and stewarding the life and opportunity God has given each of us. In what ways are you stewarding the life that God has given you right now? Where is God challenging you to be “all in”?
God is calling us to sow bountifully and to reap bountifully. How will you sow, what will you sow, in 2019?
Key Scriptures, Quotes, and Definitions:
Spontaneous, great moments, take effort.
Great things rarely happen by accident.
Opportunity rarely knocks. It is more likely to walk by and engage those who are prepared for it.
Galatians 6:7-10 NIV
7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Psalm 27:13-14
13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed, That I would see the goodness of the Lord, In the land of the living. 14 Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!
Philippians 4:6-7; 19
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 20 Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Galatians 2:20
20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Romans 12:1-2
12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Matthew 6:19-21 ESV
19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
