For Your Glory

Highlights:
1. Faith is staying positive in the tough situations because we believe in God and His goodness for us more than we do the {circumstances or} situations that are against us.

2. What is the Glory of God?
a. The essence of who God is. God is love. God is glory. Glory does not exist outside of God. Glory is the goodness of God.
b. Glory is intrinsically God. Glory comes from God, shines through God, and returns back to God.
c. The glory of God is the outward radiance of the intrinsic worth and beauty and greatness of His manifold perfections. He is perfection!
d. There is only one TRUE SOURCE of Glory: God. If it is sourced from any other place, it is not true glory, but only a facade. It will fade. God’s glory never fades or decreases, It is eternal and everlasting.

3. The containers of God’s glory are: His People and Creation.

Discussion Questions:
1. Share together as a group how the following statement can apply to a situation(s) in your life, past or present:
” All things work together for the good of those who love Him. If you situation doesn’t seem good yet, then:
a. God isn’t done… wait for it…
b. You need to run it through a different filter!”

2. Paul talked about a huge shift that was made in Romans chapter 1: They had CHANGED the glory – EXCHANGED the truth for a lie! In what ways do we run the risk of committing this same sinful act in our own lives? Share some examples and pray together that God would keep our eyes and devotion on Him and His glory (and repent where and if necessary, as the Lord leads.)

3. How does your life bring God glory?

Key Scriptures and Quotes:
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

“People don’t remember what you say or do but will always remember how you made them feel.”

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” Isaiah 6:3b

Everyone who is called by my name, whom I have created for My glory, I have formed him, yes I have made him.” Isaiah 43:7

For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. Romans 3:23

The heaven’s are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Psalm 19:1

I am the Lord, that is my name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to carved images. Isaiah 42:8

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes (Glory) are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because although they knew God, they did not glorify His as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves who exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen, Romans 1:20-25
