The Awesome Fear of the Lord
Highlights:
1. What the Fear of the Lord IS NOT.
A. It is not a natural fear
B. It is not a demonic fear
C. It is not a religious fear
D. It is not a fear of man
E. It is not fear of punishment or servile fear
2. What the Fear of the Lord IS.
A. A child like fear
– Filial fear. Holy respect and glowing love.
– Love for God and fear of God are companion emotions.

B. A fountain of life

Discussion Questions:
1. How is an experience of the Awesomeness of God necessary for a proper view of the Fear of the Lord?
2. Discuss together how satisfaction and rest are related to the Fear of the Lord. Refereance Prov. 19:23
3. Take time to evaluate your life. What has more awesome power in your life: your challenges, difficulties and circumstances, or is it God?
– Pray together to gain new revelation of how much more awesome God is than our present curcumstances.

1 John 4:17-18 By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
