Addictions – What are you thinking?
Pastor Phil Vance
-
Highlights:
-
21-Day Brain Detox Plan
-
Gather your thoughts: take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ (2 Cor. 10:5).
-
Have focused reflection: be transformed by the renewing of your mind through repentance, forgiveness, and accurate biblical thinking.
-
Journal: write about your process of capturing negative thoughts and replacing them with God’s thoughts
-
Revisit and replace: review often God’s truth in scripture to replace the toxic thought
-
Take an action step: choose to think about whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–anything that is excellent or praiseworthy (Phil. 4:8).

Discussion Questions:
-
What are some of the negative thoughts that regularly circle through your mind?
-
Is there anyone you should confess to or ask forgiveness of?
-
What are some biblical truths that can replace the toxic thought you have been thinking?
-
Is there a place or a time you can you daily review God’s promises to you? (i.e. I can review God’s truth each morning as I brush my teeth because I’ve written it on a 3×5 card and stuck it to my mirror).
