Love God’s Favorite Word
Pastor Phil Vance

Highlights:

1. For God to feel our love, we must keep His words. Love is in the keeping.

2. Those that press in more, get more. God responds to hunger.

3. Keeping God’s commandments makes His love complete in us.

Discussion Questions:

1. Love is in the keeping. What does “keeping” mean to you and how does it translate into love?

2. What are your actions currently communicating to God about your love for Him?

3. What circle of “knowing” God is your relationship best described by? Do you long to get to know Him more? What do you think your next step in your relationship with God is?

Key Scriptures:

-But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8 NIV

– Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
John 14:23-24 NIV

-We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.
1 John 2:3-6 NIV
