The Happiest Father (The Godly Man)

Pastor Joe Fitzgerald

Highlights:
1.) The Godly man is moving and sets the course. It is not enough to just be strong.

2. ) The Godly man engages and is proactive about their role in their family, community, and culture.

3.) Perspective in crisis changes everything.

Discussion Questions:

The descendants of Asher were:

1.) Heads of families: Pastor Joe said that if we are going to lead well and be headed in the right direction, we need to ask: where am I, where am I going, and what will it take to get there? Ask yourselves these questions and share with your group.

2.) Choice Men: What grabs your attention and keeps you from engaging your God, your family, and/or your call?

3.) Brave Warriors: Men of valor means a force of resources, wealth and virtue. Pastor Joe had an observation that the Godly man is loaded! Similarly, the prophetic word this morning about the prodigal son and his brother was that everything He (God) has is ours. Read Psalm 23 together. Take time to think about and share together what God has provided for you and how you can live according to his provision.

Key Scriptures, Quotes and Definitions:

1 Chronicles 7:40
“Each of these descendants of Asher was the head of an ancestral clan. They were all select men—mighty warriors and outstanding leaders. The total number of men available for military service was 26,000, as listed in their genealogical records.”

1 Samuel 17:29
“What have I done now?” David replied. “I was only asking a question!”
